On 29 October 2025, the “Micro Shorts Forum” was held in Beijing at a conference on the production of Chinese radio and television. At the Forum, the project “China’s Traditional Culture Micro Shorts series” was launched, the launch of which injected the power of micro Shorts for the creative transformation and innovative development of China’s excellent traditional culture.
During the event, the Vice-President and Secretary-General of the China Federation of Radio and Television Social Organizations, the Secretary-General, Executive Director, General Manager and Editor-General of the Chinese Radio and Television Publishing House, the Second-level Inspector-General of the Xinxi Province Radio and Television Bureau, Li Bi, Deputy Director-General of the Xianxiang Film and Film Investment (Gross Group) Ltd., and Yang Ming planned the project.
At the scene of the event, the Director of the China Confederation of Radio and Television’s Micro-Synthetics Commission and Professor of the Press and New Media School of the Xian University of Traffic and Communications made a presentation on the project “China’s Traditional Culture Series of Micro-Synthetics”, which was produced by the China Federation of Radio and Television, supported by the Radio and Television Bureau of Shaanxi Province, co-sponsored by the China Federation of Radio and Television’s Micro-Synthetics Committee, the Xian University of Transport’s New Media School, and Xianxiang Film and Film Investment (Chamber Group) Ltd., which launched the first four works.
Among them, the first piece, The Seven Days of Fire, focused on the “Chinese china culture” as an entry point for the God of Fire, and tells the story of the restoration of antiquities working with the God of Fire to accomplish their mission. In addition, the Tea of Celebrity is an entry point to tell the story of the master who met the plume of the millennia, so as to produce the true taste of the tea; the Golden Path is an entry point to tell the story of modern medicine students following Sun Xinxiang’s innovative approach; and the Mountain Chess language is an entry point to tell the story of the master in a chess match with the Watcher of the Mahjong.
Ping indicated that, in recent years, the micro-short play has been widely noted and welcomed as an emerging cultural practice. Through a series of fine creations deep into the essence of civilization, the human ethos and a firm mind, traditional cultures will be able to take the small-time drama to the heart of young audiences and to the world stage.
The China Radio and Television Conference for the Creation of Micro-Synthetics Forum was hosted by the Audiovisual Division of the National Network of the General Authority for Radio and Television and hosted by the Red Fruit Short opera, the ensemble newspaper and the Internet Audiovisual magazine. The theme of the forum focused on the quality of short plays, innovation and the creation of products, and promoted the development of the normative and productization of the industry.
